A Step by Step Guide to Apply

Information pack

At Snowflakes, we've streamlined our nursery application process to make securing your child's place as straightforward as possible. We maintain the same high standards and individual attention at each of our four convenient locations. With September places filling quickly, we recommend beginning your application 3-6 months in advance.

Step 1: Book A Viewing

Schedule your visit to observe our educational approach and meet your child's potential key person. During your visit, we'll discuss:

  • Your child's individual needs and development stage

  • Available session times and funding options

  • Our educational framework and daily structure

  • Settling-in process and key person assignment

Step 2: Government Funding Applications

For a complete guide on all available schemes, eligibility requirements, and direct links to apply, please visit our detailed Government Funded Places page

  • Most families can significantly reduce their nursery fees by using government funding, such as the 15 and 30-hour free childcare schemes.

  • It is essential to apply for your funding code in the term before your child is due to start to ensure it is ready for enrolment.

Step 3: Needs & Preferences

A chance to get to know us:

  • During your visit, we'll complete detailed forms about your child's needs, routines, and preferences. This isn't bureaucracy—it's how we ensure your child's key person can provide individual attention from day one.

  • We'll discuss dietary requirements, sleep patterns, comfort items, and any special considerations. Parents often tell us this conversation is often when you feel confident that we truly understand your child's needs.

Step 4: Secure Your Place

Documentation That You Will Need If Your Ready To Secure A Place:

We need these documents to complete your child's enrolment and ensure we can provide the best possible care.

  • Child's full birth certificate - This confirms your child's age for appropriate room placement and helps us understand any additional names they might use.

  • Parents' photo identification - We match this with the birth certificate to ensure authorised enrolment and meet our safeguarding requirements.

  • Proof of address (within 3 months) - Recent utility bill or council tax statement confirms your local area for emergency procedures and communication.

  • Government funding confirmation letter - If you've applied for 30-hour or 2-year-old funding, we need your eligibility letter to process the financial arrangements.

Financial Requirements:

Once we've confirmed availability and completed your application we arrange secure bank transfer for all payments. Most parents complete this within 24 hours of confirmation.

  • Registration fee covers administrative setup and creation of your child's learning profile that we will use to build a developement profile over their time with us.

  • Deposit is held securely and applied to your final month's fees when you eventually leave us. This protects your reserved place while we hold it for your start date.

  • First month's fees in advance ensures smooth transition with no payment concerns during your child's crucial settling period.

  • Registration fee covers administrative setup and creation of your child's learning profile that we will use to build a developement profile over their time with us.

Immediate Confirmation:

  • You'll receive written confirmation of your child's placement, session times, and start date. We'll introduce you to your child's designated key person, who will arrange a preliminary meeting before settling sessions begin.

  • Access to our parent app is activated immediately, allowing you to familiarise yourself with how we'll communicate your child's daily progress and achievements.
